Our newest SIGNL4 release brings a set of practical improvements designed to make everyday operations easier and more reliable. These updates focus on helping teams plan better, react faster, and get more out of the Mobile App – without adding complexity.
1. Absence Planning Directly in the Calendar
You can now manage team absences right inside the SIGNL4 calendar. When building a shift schedule, it’s immediately visible who is available and who isn’t.
If someone is accidentally scheduled during an absence, SIGNL4 clearly flags it so the conflict can be resolved quickly.
Team members can add their own absences – vacation, training, appointments etc. – via the portal or the Mobile App. Schedulers and team leads can also manage absences for the whole team. This makes shift planning more accurate and reduces unnecessary back-and-forth.
2. Backups Can Now Step In More Easily
Backup team members assigned to a shift can now temporarily stand in for colleagues in the primary shift tier. Because they’re already on duty, they can take over quickly when short-term coverage is needed.
Previously, only off-duty team members could fill this role. The new approach gives teams more flexibility during busy or unexpected situations.
3. Automated User Provisioning via SCIM (Beta)
We’ve added support for SCIM, allowing user accounts to be created and updated automatically through identity management systems. This feature is part of the Maximizer plan and is currently in closed beta.

4. Refined Duty Companion on iOS
The iOS Live Activity (Duty Companion) has been improved. Start and end behavior is now more reliable, ensuring the Duty Companion disappears once a shift ends.
This keeps the Mobile App tidy and makes it easier to stay focused on what matters.
5. FaceID / Biometric Login in the Mobile App
The Mobile App now prompts users to enable biometric login such as FaceID. When a session expires, you can sign back in with a quick tap – simple, secure, and handy when you’re on the move.
