Segment and SIGNL4: Know your Customer’s Actions, Anywhere and Anytime

You have a web site, app, online shop, or SaaS offering? Then you have plenty of user actions. That can be visiting a certain page, signing up for a service or canceling a subscription. Wouldn’t it be great to know in real time when an important customer action takes place? This would allow you sales, customer service or technical teams to act immediately no matter where they are.

Segment, a Twilio company, is a leading customer data platform offering software and APIs to collect, clean, and control customer data. Segment collects user events from your web & mobile apps and provides a complete data toolkit to different teams (for example customer services, sales, marketing, product, or engineering) in your company.

Segment and SIGNL4

Sometimes it is not enough to display information on the dashboard or to send a simple email. When urgent and important customer incidents happen, SIGNL4 bridges the ‘last mile’ to your teams. SIGNL4 notifies through persistent mobile push, SMS text and voice calls with acknowledgement, tracking and escalation. Integrated duty and shift scheduling ensure the right people are alerted at the right time. It provides for an up to 10x faster and effective response to critical alerts, major incidents, and urgent service requests.

SIGNL4 also ensures clear responsibility within a team. For example, if there is a specific user activity and an alert is sent to your SIGNL4 team, one user in this team can acknowledge and annotate the alert so all the others team members always know the latest status.

Some use cases for critical mobile alerting with Segment and SIGNL4 are the following:

  • New user subscription or cancelation
  • A customer registers or unregisters for a certain service
  • Unexpected user behavior
  • Activities of VIP customers
  • Notifications about certain thresholds

Installing SIGNL4 with Segment makes it simple to get up and running without custom code or added implementation time. All you need to do is sign up for SIGNL4. You then get your team secret that you can use as API key in your SIGNL4 destination function in Segment. Connecting SIGNL4 with Segment allows you to notify your teams (e.g. sales, product, marketing, customer service, etc.) in case of certain situations or user sessions. Your teams can now react immediately no matter where they are.
