Mobile alerting with tracking & escalation for SysAid

SysAid_Alert

 Why SIGNL4

SysAid can send out alerts, but all too often the emails that are sent from critical events are missed. SIGNL4 ensures that all on duty members receive, acknowledge and resolve those critical alerts, all from their smartphones. With persistent notifications and escalation chains there will never be a critical alert that goes unattended. SIGNL4 also offers ad-hoc collaboration between team members for each and every alert, so Subject Matter Experts can be looped in to help resolve issues.

 How it Works

SIGNL4 team email address establishes connection with SysAid to enable mobile notification and alerting capabilities for operational and network teams.

 Integration Capabilities

  • Forwards SysAid alerts to SIGNL4 for mobile alerting
  • Uses SMTP email to connect to your SIGNL4 team
  • Staff can acknowledge and take ownership for critical events that occur
  • Communicate within an alert to address a problem
  • Alerts are escalated in case of no response
  • On-call scheduling to alert the right people at the right time

  • Server Monitoring
  • Resource Monitoring

HOW TO INTEGRATE

In our example we are sending incident data from SysAid to our SIGNL4 team by directing communication to a user with the unique team email address.

SIGNL4 is a mobile alert notification app for powerful alerting, alert management and mobile assignment of work items.  Get the app at https://www.signl4.com

Prerequisites

A SIGNL4 (https://www.signl4.com) account

A SysAid (https://www.sysaid.com/) account

SysAid_Create_User

First we need to create a user in SysAid with the SIGNL4 email address. This will allow us to dedicate assets, assign tickets and notify the SIGNL4 team of incidents that arise.  To create a user go to Tools > User Management and End Users.

From here you click on the Add icon and populate the user information with the SIGNL4 team details.

Sysaid_incident_email

Once the user is created it can be assigned assets, assigned group membership and be specifically targeted for incidents that arise. We are going to use the latter here and target our SIGNL4 user for a New Incident.

Editing the Incident and assigning the user will provide ownership within SysAid. We are going to target the details here to the user via email.

SysAid_Alert

The incident details shown above will pass along to the SIGNL4 team and on-duty team members will be alerted via Push, SMS and Voice.

ALERT OPTIMIZATION
SIGNL4 can further increase the visibility of alerts through its Signals and Services section. Augmenting the color and icon of alerts will provide more relevant information at a glance without having to open the alert.
