How To Integrate

Integrating SIGNL4 with Thousand Eyes

In our example we are using Thousand Eyes to monitor the up-time of critical servers.  We are setting up a SIGNL4 Webhook as the method of receiving the alerts.

SIGNL4 is a mobile alert notification app for powerful alerting, alert management and mobile assignment of work items.  Get the app at https://www.signl4.com

Prerequisites

A Thousand Eyes (https://www.thousandeyes.com) account

Integration Steps

  1. Add or edit an Alert Rule by selecting Alerts and Alert Rules.
  2. In the Notifications section click on Configure Webhook.
  3. Give it a name and enter the URL of the SIGNL4 webhook associated with your account

  4. Be sure to select the newly created webhook in the alert rule.
  5. Click on Create New Alert Rule or Save.
  6. That’s it! The next time this alert is triggered, data will be sent from Thousand Eyes to your SIGNL4 team.
  7. Augment the SIGNL4 alerts for easy viewing within the mobile app. Under Services and Systems you can create a category and select the color, icon and adjust the title and text that is received.

Alert Optimization

SIGNL4 can further increase the visibility of alerts through its Signals and Services section.  Augmenting the color and icon of alerts will provide more relevant information at a glance without having to open the alert.
