Mobile alerting with tracking & escalation for Pipedream
When critical systems fail, SIGNL4 is the fastest way to alert your staff, engineers, IT admins on call and “in the field”. SIGNL4 provides reliable notifications via mobile app push, text and voice calls with tracking, escalations and duty scheduling.
Pipedream is a serverless integration and compute platform that makes it easy to connect apps and develop event-driven workflows.
Pairing Pipedream with SIGNL4 can enhance your daily operations with an extension to your team wherever it is. The integration does not only allow you to know when a critical issue has occurred but also when it was resolved no matter where you are.
How it Works
SIGNL4 is available as a ready-to-use Action in the Pipedream. Using the SIGNL4 action, you can easily alert your team through an automated workflow.
Developers and service engineers alerted via mobile push, text and voice
Integration with SIGNL4 via webhook or email (SMTP)
Staff can acknowledge and take ownership for critical events that occur
Alerts are escalated in case of no response
Communicate within an alert to address a particular problem
Tracking and visibility of problem solutions
Integrated on-call duty planning
Alert on critical IoT device states
Two-way integration to interact or set the device state
How To Integrate
Integrating SIGNL4 with Pipedream
The integration of Pipedream and SIGNL4 is done using a webhook and available as a ready-to-use Action. This one generates an alert and sends it to a SIGNL4-Team.
Below we describe the steps necessary to integrate the SIGNL4 with Pipedream.
1. Create the Workflow
Logon to the Pipedream portal and create a new Workflow. In our example the trigger is an email.
2. SIGNL4 Alerting
Now you add a Step and in the search box you enter SIGNL4. Add the SIGNL4 Alerting Action and specify the parameters accordingly. You can use static parameters or values from previous steps. The TeamSecret is your SIGNL4 team secret, i.e. the first part of your SIGNL4 email address.
3. Test it
That is it and now you can test the alert. You can do so directly in your workflow and you should then receive an alert in your SIGNL4 app.
SIGNL4 can further increase the visibility of alerts through its Signals and Services section. Augmenting the color and icon of alerts will provide more relevant information at a glance without having to open the alert.
Change Alert Color and Override Title + Text
Override text, colors and titles are triggered by keywords set within the mobile app.
